  • Hi Tom, I've been following your tumblr for about a year now and I have a question about how a editor determines if a story is quality work or not. In reading various questions that you've received on your tumblr, it would seem that quality is in the eye of the consumer. So, could you elaborate a little on what your process is for determining what makes the grade for publication or rejection from your established writers and artists? Thanks!

    I use my personal judgment.

I’ve got extensive experience in the creation of comics and a firm understanding of the characters. I understand how a story is put together, and I’ve got an instinct for what will strike sparks with the audience. So, like each of our editors, I use my judgment.

If something seems wrong, I fix it or address it with the creative team.

    This is my question!
