I can’t speak to any other company, but my sense is that everybody submits work. But the reality is that, while winning an Eisner is a nice ego-boost for those involved, it doesn’t have much meaning beyond that. An Eisner win doesn’t sell you more books or make you more money or make it more likely that you’ll get more or bigger assignments. The same goes for the Harvey’s and the Eagle Awards, and so forth. Nice to win, but doesn’t much move the needle.
